MEET THE CAPTAIN
Your host and skipper, John Henderson, has 24 years’ experience in the Tourism and yacht charter industry in the Whitsundays.
His background prior to arriving was one of sales and marketing in New Zealand involved in the office equipment industry for many years as well as a career in new and used boat sales, operating his own successful Power boat retail business with his wife Jacqui.
He has sailed extensively with Jacqui, his wife of 30 years, throughout the east coast of Australia as well as in New Zealand and some Pacific Islands.
His knowledge of the Whitsunday Islands is extensive as he has always tried to visit a new location whenever he is on the water and knows of some stunning places to visit which are not on the tourist routes.
John is very safety conscious and his trips always start with a clear and informative safety brief before departing.
Over the years, John has gathered a lot of information about the islands, reef systems, native aboriginal history, early settlement, flora and fauna during his time in the Whitsundays and can provide an enthusiastic commentary throughout the day if you wish, or just let you enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Do not be afraid to ask him any questions you like.
John has a passion for showing off this part of the world and every day on the water is “living the dream” for him, so to speak.
